Philosophy and Approach
Anna’s approach to therapy is collaborative and solutions focused. Anna works with children, adolescents, adults and families on a range of issues. When Anna works with families she uses responsive methods, supporting and empowering the voices of each member of the family and explores with parents what works for their familial environment. Anna believes that punitive-based discipline methods (such as time-outs) when dealing with the child’s behaviour can be unhelpful. Anna prefers to work with methods that support the parent/child relationship and align with and focus on the secure attachment process and achieving productive outcomes. Anna works with person-centred modalities and assists clients to achieve their personal goals.
Anna is informed, but not limited to therapeutic modalities such as:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Person-Centred Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Solutions-Focused Therapy
- Emotionally-Focused Therapy
- Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
- Family systems approach
Areas of child, adolescent, adult and family therapy include:
- Attachment Issues
- Stress & Anxiety
- Step / Blended Family Issues
- Children’s Sleep and Behavioural Difficulties

Sleep Consulting for Infants and Children
Anna offers parents nurturing and responsive methods to help with their child’s sleep and behaviour. Anna strongly supports the need for parents to respond to their infant or child’s crying. Anna believes that by responding to the child’s crying you are not “causing a rod for your own back”, nor is your infant/child manipulating you. Fortunately, there are methods that enable parents to respond to their infant or child in a sensitive and consistent way, which makes sense for the child and feels more comfortable for the parent. Please refer to the ‘Sleep Testimonials’ page for parent’s feedback.
